Obedience Brings Blessing

 Deuteronomy 12:28

Be careful to obey all these regulations I am giving you, so that it may always go well with you and your children after you, because you will be doing what is good and right in the eyes of the Lord your God.

God is more anxious to bestow His blessing on us than we are to receive them. -St. Augustine

Though salvation is not by the works of the law, yet the blessings which are promised to obedience are not denied to the faithful servants of God. The curses our Lord took away when He was made a curse for us, but no clause of blessing has been abrogated.

We are to note and listen to the revealed will of the Lord, giving our attention not to portions of it but to ‘all these words’. There must be no picking and choosing but an impartial respect to all that God has commanded. This is the road of blessedness for the Father and for His children. The Lord’s blessing is upon His chosen to the third and fourth generation. If they walk uprightly before Him, He will make all men know that they are a seed which the Lord has blessed.

God, thank Your for the blessings that flow when I obey You. I pray for a heart that longs to follow Your rules for living. Amen.

  3. “all these words” – isn’t it amazing that each time we read His Word He picks out different words within the passage and makes them “new” to us, even though we’ve read them hundreds of times before? The Living Word is present with the written Word and Holy Spirit gives us direction and understanding.

    What an amazing God!

    • @Franklin Perry|Amen Pastor Perry. Glad you liked it! God bless you! I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! And remember, no matter who is, or is not there, it’s a time to give thanks to God, even with a broken heart, because He loves us and understands everything. He is with us, even unto the end. Thanks be to God that soon…very soon…we will all be reunited with those we love who made it through the ‘pearly’ gates! ♪♫♪♫♪♫♪

This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24
